Program Manager: Dr Liz Cuninghame
Program Co-ordinator: Teresa Masterson

People in the Shoalhaven are important especially their health and well being.  Healthy Families in the Shoalhaven is a network of organisations who’s principle task is to promote community discussion and encourage local initiatives around childhood health and wellbeing.  To have a positive impact on childhood health  requires both changing practices at an individual, family, worksite and community level.  The network aims to:

  • Build a supportive environment within the Shoalhaven through interventions and advocacy strategies such as healthy urban planning and
  • Shape attitudes in the Shoalhaven by raising awareness of factors that influence our children
  • Advance public policy to provide increased access to healthy food choices, increased opportunities for PA, and safe and healthy communities
  • Ensure a co-ordinated approach to planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives across the Shoalhaven
  • Share information, resources, expertise, funding opportunities
  • To develop and promote joint preventive projects, programs and partnerships across the Shoalhaven
  • To provide support for individuals and organisations to promote healthy opportunities for children
  • To raise the profile of the network across the Shoalhaven
