Geographical Area

Located on the south coast of NSW the Shoalhaven covers a large coastal, rural area of 4.558 square kilometres. Based in Nowra, the Division services the townships of Berry, Shoalhaven Heads, Nowra, Culburra, Callala Bay, the Bay and Basin, Milton, Mollymook, Ulladulla and Bawley Point.

Division Profile

The Shoalhaven Division of General Practice Inc is an incorporated, not-for profit association of GPs. A Board of Directors elected by the GP members of the Division oversees the Division’s activities.

Since commencing operation in 1994, the Shoalhaven Division of General Practice Inc has been providing a resource that:

  • Assists GPs, communities, other health care providers and government gain access to local primary health care information;
  • Offers clinical and management support to GPs and their practices;
  • Provides an opportunity for professional development, including medical education, mentoring and teaching placements;
  • Assists GPs involved in research of primary health care;
  • Links with systems for monitoring and evaluating public health;
  • Assists with peer support amongst GPs at personal and professional levels.
